TEAM LEADER, WORD PROCESSING
CALGARY, ALBERTA

TERA Environmental Consultants is excited to recruit a Team Leader, Word Processing.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following duties:

• Supervise staff in the Word Processing (WordPro) department

• Interview and recruit all new WordPro hires

• Train new WordPro hires in TERA styles and standard templates

• Quality Assurance/Quality Control of WordPro department to ensure they are learning the TERA standards

• Assist WordPro and other staff with computer/printer/document issues

• Format Word documents, Excel spreadsheets, PowerPoint presentations, MS Project Gantt charts, etc. to TERA styles and standard templates

• Liaise with planners about documents and projects

• Update TERA Style Manual, with the help of the WordPro team, to ensure all information is current

• Conduct regular one-on-one meetings with WordPro department staff to check how each is doing

• Organize and lead monthly WordPro team meetingsCall printer supplier for service on printers and order printer supplies

• Meet with printer supplier’s service techs for service calls

• Liaise with IT about printers, printer issues and Ricoh service

• Pack-up and return spent toner and printer supplies back to Ricoh


The successful candidate's qualifications will include:

• 7 to 10 years Word Processing/Administrative Experience

• 2 to 3 years supervisory experience

• Strong Microsoft Word skills are essential with a good working knowledge of Excel and Powerpoint

• Knowledge of Microsoft Project, Publisher and/or Access and/or Corel Draw would be an asset

• Experience with document control and electronic and paper filing systems

• Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) and a professional interpersonal manner

• Excellent judgment and strong problem solving skills

• Excellent spelling, grammar and attention to detail

• Ability to prioritize and multi-task

ENVIRONMENTAL PLANNERS

TERA Environmental Consultants is currently accepting resumes for Environmental Planners. Applicants should possess the following minimum qualifications:

• Bachelors or Masters degree in environmental sciences or related disciplines.

• Two to five years applicable experience in the agricultural, regulatory, oil and gas, or environmental industries

Applicants must be prepared to work in a multi-disciplinary project team environment while undertaking a variety of project-related tasks including field work, report writing, and public and regulatory consultation.
