We are currently looking for a wildlife biologist for our office in Calgary, Alberta. Your duties will include developing inventory methods, collecting baseline data, data analysis and assessing potential impacts and recommending mitigative measures related to development activities. You will oversee the wildlife component of projects, including budget, schedule, field work, report writing and preparation.
The ideal candidate will have the following:
• Master's Degree in biology, natural resources, wildlife, ecology or related sciences and be a Professional Biologist (Alberta) and/or Registered Professional Biologist (BC).
• A minimum of 7 years experience, with at least 2 years in environmental consulting or related environmental field.
• Knowledge of the status, distribution, habitat and behavior of animals, and experience in developing and conducting wildlife field surveys.
• Availability to conduct extensive field surveys in Alberta and BC.
• Project management experience.
• Familiarity with provincial and federal guidelines/aregulations related to species at risk and their habitat.
• Experience in dealing with clients in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Strong report writing skills.
• Ability to work in a team environment and to deliver projects under tight time constraints.

TERA Environmental Consultants is seeking an Intermediate or Senior Fish Biologist. Applicants should possess the following minimum qualifications.
Masters degree in fish or fish habitat-related studies and 3 or more years applicable experience conducting and managing fish studies, or Bachelor degree with five or more years conducting and managing fish studies.
Relevant oil and gas and regulatory experience would be an asset. Applicants must be prepared to work in a multidisciplinary project team environment while undertaking a variety of project-related tasks including public and regulatory consultation; training and supervision of junior personnel; project management, field work and report writing. Some field work will be required but this role is predominantly office-based.
