Our Safety Policy
At TERA, safety is a value that is applied to all our activities. Every day, our goal is to ensure that all TERA employees and contractors fulfill their health, safety and environmental responsibilities and share in the benefits of a safe work environment. We are committed to maintaining our excellent standards of health and safety by;
- managing risks through proper job planning
- hazard identification and near miss reporting, thereby preventing injuries
- communicating HSE lessons learned on regular basis
- mentoring young and new employees and aligning them with Tera HSE expectations
- ensuring that all activities are carried out in an environmentally responsible manner
- providing appropriate levels of training and qualifications for all supervisors, employees and subcontractors
- ensuring all staff and subcontractors comply with appropriate health and safety legislation, client programs and industry standards
- respecting the rights of all workers to refuse work if they believe that there exists an imminent danger to the health or safety of themselves or any other worker
Our Safety Achievements
TERA’s health, safety and environment performance is the prime indicator of our commitment to the health and safety of our employees, clients, subcontractors and the public. In over 29 years and 8,000 projects, TERA has had only two lost time incidents. Over the past three calendar years, in recognition of our excellent performance, TERA has received discounts from the Workers’ Compensation Boards (WCB) of Alberta and British Columbia, and the Experience Rating Discount from the Saskatchewan Workers’ Compensation Board.
Our Safety Program is applicable to all employees of TERA, professional associates and subcontractors. It provides guidance to a sustainable safe work environment that complies with relevant legislative and regulatory standards and prevailing industry and client standards. Our ability to consistently maintain the industry’s health, safety and environment program standard has earned us a Certificate of Recognition from WCB. TERA is registered with ISNetworld (ISN) and continues to receive a “green” rating through ISN’s Review and Verification System.
In response to growing concerns about our environment, TERA has bullfrogpowered its facilities.
