The collection and assessment of biophysical and socio-economic data are typically designed to align with Western value systems. It is important that local values (i.e., traditional knowledge) are considered in all aspects of biophysical and socio-economic data collection and assessment.

The Heritage Resource Department is consisted of two sub departments. One sub department is Archaeological Resource Management which involves the assessment, evaluation, and documentation of archaeological sites and objects at all scales in order to assist in their conservation, protection, and exploration through effective mitigation strategies, excavation, and non-destructive study. The other sub department is Traditional Land Use (TLU) and Traditional Ecological Knowledge (TEK).
The Administrative Assistant – Heritage Resources tasks include:

Reporting to the Wetlands discipline lead, the Wetlands Scientist will be responsible for field surveys to establish baseline wetland characteristics and function in addition to Wetland function post-construction monitoring programs.The position will require field work and strong technical writing skills to prepare subsequent technical reports and regulatory applications.

Reporting to the Reclamation Manager, the Reclamation Specialist will be responsible for effective pipeline reclamation and restoration planning as well as project management within TERA.
The successful incumbent will offer expertise and support on a variety of assessment and reclamation/restoration-related activities.

- a university degree(s) in Natural Science, Plant Science, Agronomy, Horticulture or Ecology;
- a P.Ag or RT(Ag) designation, or be working towards or eligible for P.Ag or RT(Ag) designation;

Reporting to the Wetlands discipline lead, the Wetlands Scientist will be responsible for fields surveys to establish baseline wetland characteristics and function in addition to Wetland function post-construction monitoring programs. The position will require field work and strong technical writing skills to prepare subsequent technical reports and regulatory applications.
The successful candidate:
- Degree in environmental science, biology, ecology, or a related field and a minimum of 3 years applied experience (oil and gas consulting experience would be an asset).
- Minimum of 3 years experience conducting wetland classification, delineation and function assessment field surveys including demonstrated ability to lead wetland assessment teams
- Preparing wetland technical reports and wetland regulatory applications
- In addition to the above assets, the Senior Wetland Scientist (minimum of 8 years) candidate will also have demonstrated experience in protocol design and program development, project management, and team management/leadership.
- Positions will be primarily field-based during the growing season (i.e., May to September) and office-based for the remainder of the year - fieldwork will include physically demanding tasks and, at times, require extended stays in remote locations.
- Ability to develop and follow protocols and work independently and as a member of multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong written, oral and organizational skills are essential for this position
- The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, adaptable and self-driven. The candidate will also be experienced with wetland field protocol, wetland-specific NEB filing requirements and possess a solid understanding of Federal and Provincial wetland policies.
- Knowledgeable with relevant federal and provincial environmental legislation in British Columbia, Alberta and/or Saskatchewan. Knowledge of the Canadian Environmental Assessment Act and National Energy Board's Filing Manual requirements would also be an asset.
Applicants must be prepared to work in a multidisciplinary project team environment while undertaking a variety of project-related tasks including; public and regulatory consultation; training and supervision of junior personnel; project management; field work; and report writing.
