| Nature of Work: |
The Project consisted of installation of 87.5 km of 20 inch pipeline on the south side of the Peace River near Taylor where the pipeline tied into the existing Peace River Crossing Pipeline. The Project also included approximately 4 km of 20 inch pipeline commencing from the Peace River Crossing Pipeline on the north side of the Peace River and ending at the existing Westcoast McMahon Plant in Taylor. TERA was the prime environmental consultant responsible for the preparation of the ESA for the Section 52 application to the NEB. We co-ordinated and conducted all biophysical field surveys required for the project, including wildlife, rare plant, wetland, fish and fish habitat, weed and soil surveys. We also provided support to Public and Government consultation on an as-needed basis to Westcoast. TERA provided an expert witness at the NEB hearing, and successfully defended the project along with the Westcoast team. Project construction was initiated in July 2009 and completed in October 2009. During construction, TERA provided Inspection Services, and is currently involved in the Post Construction Monitoring Program. |
